What is a ‘Special Occasion Permit’?
- A SOP is need any time liquor is sold or served anywhere other than in a licensed establishment or a private place. A private place is an indoor area usually not open to the public and not open to the public during the time of your event (ie. A private residence, or office building)
How do I obtain a 'Special Occasion Permit' (SOP/Temporary Liquor License)?
- SOP application forms are available at select LCBO stores or by downloading from this link: www.agco.on.ca/en/b.alcohol/b3.specialpermit.html. You will need to complete the application form, bring it to a designated LCBO store for processing and otherwise follow the instructions on the link above.
