MOLSON COORS MATCHING DONATIONS PROGRAM

The Matching Donations Program is an initiative of The Molson Donations Fund (TMDF).  Launched in 1993, the program enables the company and its employees to maximize their efforts and their dollars in making donations to the charitable sector in Canada.

How Does it Work?

A matching donations program is one by which companies match their employees’ giving to registered charities.  For example, if an employee gives $100 to a registered charity, The Molson Donations Fund (TMDF) will match their contribution, thereby doubling the total received by the charity.

Why a Matching Gifts Program?

The Matching Gifts Program offers a number of benefits:

  • It takes the same spirit of teamwork that has enabled Molson Coors and its employees to create high-quality products, and applies it to charitable giving
  • It demonstrates Molson Coors and its employees’ commitment to community involvement
  • It enables TMDF to give to a wider range of charities than those eligible within its main guidelines
  • It encourages employees to increase their contribution because they know that every dollar will be matched
  • It encourages employees who have not previously participated to contribute for the first time

What amount of personal donations is eligible for matching?

TMDF will match, dollar for dollar, contributions by employees up to $5,000 per employee per calendar year.

Double Matching

For employees who take an active leadership role in charitable work, TMDF will double-match their donations.  An active leadership role is defined as currently holding an officer-level role (President/Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, or Chair of a fundraising committee).
