Eligibility Criteria

  • Organizations applying for funding must be a not-for-profit, with a Charitable Registration Number

  • Funding from Molson must be used for programs within Canada
  • Molson invests in program funding rather than administration costs
  • Molson invests in projects that offer opportunities for its staff to volunteer
  • Molson expects that, where applicable, its donation recipients will conduct a cost analysis detailing the funds raised and how they were distributed
  • Charities are expected to provide information about their organization to Molson on an as-required basis
  • Molson will generally need a minimum of two months lead time to approve a charity

Please Note: Molson provides substantial support to United Way chapters across Canada. For this reason, we do not provide duplicate support to member agencies that already benefit from United Way funding for the same project.

What Are The Criteria For Investment In Active Lifestyles?

An Active Lifestyles Project will enable young adult community members to improve their physical conditioning and encourage their neighbours and peer group to be physically active. Money from Molson will be invested in:

  • Facilities where community members go to interact and participate in physical activities – i.e. arenas; community centres; baseball diamonds; and soccer fields; and
  • Projects in which young adults are involved in an organizational role (students helping students). Note: Student organizations must apply through a registered University/College Foundation with a valid Charitable Registration Number. What Are The Criteria For Investment In Healthy Communities?

An investment in Healthy Communities will enable young adults to establish or improve upon the health and wellbeing of community members by assisting in the provision of basic needs and/or the ancillary skills to achieve those needs. Money from Molson will be invested in:

  • Student-led campus programs that help provide food for struggling students or community members;
  • Student-led campus programs that work with local agencies to meet community needs in time of crisis;
  • Donations to food banks tied to company initiatives; and
  • Donations to community hospitals tied to company initiatives. What Are The Criteria For Investment In Skills Improvement?

Molson will provide funding to local agencies that offer programming to young adults to help them upgrade their education or learn a skill or trade that will help them become contributing members of society.

  • Structured retraining programs; and
  • Skills improvement for young adults living in shelters or on the street
